CHICAGO – Golf fans around the world will have a front-row seat to one of amateur golf’s premier championships, with the final two days of the 124th Western Amateur presented by Inspire11 at The Beverly Country Club streaming live exclusively on ESPN+.

Beginning with the Sweet 16 on Friday, July 31, the Western Golf Association (WGA) will deliver more than 12 hours of live coverage featuring every match through the championship final. ESPN+ subscribers can watch on the ESPN app, ESPN.com and compatible connected TV devices.

Streaming the championship on ESPN+ gives fans the opportunity to watch the next generation compete on one of amateur golf's biggest stages."

With proud partners Morgan Stanley, Peter Millar and Titleist, exclusive coverage will stream on ESPN+, the home of PGA TOUR LIVE. Coverage also will be available in Canada on TSN+ and throughout the Caribbean and Latin America on Disney+.

Coverage begins Friday, July 31, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. CT with the Sweet 16 before returning from 3-6 p.m. for the quarterfinals. On Saturday, Aug. 1, the semifinals will air from 9 a.m. to noon CT, followed by the championship match beginning at approximately 1 p.m.

The broadcast will feature live tournament coverage, player interviews, highlights and behind-the-scenes storytelling, while also celebrating the history of the WGA, the Western Amateur and The Beverly Country Club. Thaler Media will produce the telecast, with David Marr III and Tripp Isenhour providing commentary and 1999 Western Amateur champion Steve Scott serving as on-course reporter.

The Western Amateur is returning to The Beverly Country Club for the first time since 2014, when a star-studded Sweet Sixteen featured seven future PGA TOUR winners, including multiple-time major champions Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele and Bryson DeChambeau. Schauffele went on to finish second to Beau Hossler, who has made 248 starts on the PGA TOUR.

First played in 1899, the Western Amateur is among the oldest and most prestigious championships in amateur golf. The championship begins with 72 holes of stroke play before the field is reduced to the low 16 players after 54 holes. Those players advance to match play, where four rounds determine the champion. All proceeds from the Western Amateur benefit the Evans Scholars Foundation, which awards full tuition and housing college scholarships to deserving youth caddies.

Last year's ESPN+ coverage showcased several of amateur golf's rising stars, including Virginia graduate Ben James, who has since made five cuts in seven PGA TOUR starts over the past 14 months. The broadcast also featured longtime junior golf rivals Ethan Fang and Jase Summy meeting in the championship match, where Summy claimed a 6-and-5 victory to match the largest winning margin in Western Amateur final history. Summy has since turned professional and made three Korn Ferry Tour starts in 2026.

This year's championship features another elite field, led by Tyler Watts, the No. 3 player in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR). The incoming Tennessee freshman burst onto the scene with a course-record 62 during the opening round of the 2025 Western Amateur at Skokie Country Club and has since earned a spot on the 2026 USA Walker Cup Team. Watts also captured the 2025 Elite Amateur Series title, finished runner-up at the 2024 U.S. Junior Amateur and has made the cut in both of his career PGA TOUR starts.

Close behind at No. 4 in the WAGR is Fang, who earned PING All-America honorable mention and First Team All-Big 12 honors during his junior season at Oklahoma State. He also was a semifinalist for the Ben Hogan Award after helping lead the Cowboys to a third-place finish at the 2026 NCAA Championship.

Joining Watts and Fang are three more players ranked among the top 10 in the WAGR, including:

  • No. 5 Miles Russell (Florida State)
  • No. 7 Luke Poulter (Florida)
  • No. 8 Josiah Gilbert (Auburn)

The international field will feature players from 25 countries, including 69 competitors ranked inside the top 100 in the WAGR.
